MIS H2011 Trends in Information Technology
This course offers a survey of information technology
underpinning information systems in the private and public sectors. It aims to
provide students with an overview of advances in information technology of
importance to systems design and development. Topics to be covered will be
updated each year the course is taught. Current topics would include cloud
computing, mobile applications, user interfaces, data analytics, and social networks.
The key elements of each of these technologies will be detailed together with
examples of their use in existing information systems. The implications of
these technologies for future information systems development will also be
examined.
